Sit on quad

Tailored courses

An All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) offers incredible traction yet little protection, although used extensively in the outdoor world, operators are rarely trained, this can be an awkward position to defend if things go wrong. If you have a sit astride quad bike we can tailor a course to meet your needs.

ATS ATV Safety Awareness Course

Our own course starts with a detailed look at the way the ‘Sit On’ ATV works and the basic maintenance required to keep them in a safe and reliable condition. After the theory session you start driving on level ground, gradually advancing to gentle hills and then on to side slopes, ditches, gullies and steeper hills, finishing with a safari drive around the training grounds. This one-day course can accommodate up to 3 drivers per instructor and satisfies an employer’s legal obligation to provide adequate training. Each trainee will receive an All Terrain Services certificate of attendance and users guide. If the training needs to include loads, implements and trailer towing/reversing this can be covered in the one day course although it will be necessary to reduce the number of drivers to 2 max per instructor/course.

BORDA ‘sit on’ ATV quad bike training

For those that require a nationally recognised Health and Safety certificate, we offer courses certificated by the British Off Road Driving Association (BORDA) who offer 3 levels of training.

Higher ATV Riding Course

For operating Quad Bikes on steep gradients where traction may be lost.

A two day course for 2 riders per 1 machine or 4 riders providing 2 machines are available.

These courses are more intensive than our attended course as The British Off Road Driving Association (BORDA) limits attendance to 2 trainees per machine available (max of 4 if 2 machines used). Each attendee receives a BORDA certificate and course notes.

An added on module is available for loads, implements and trailers for those requiring it and it is expected that an additional half day would be necessary for an inexperienced user but experienced riders could expect the inclusion of the additional units in a full/extended day.

An enhanced certificate is issued by BORDA on completion of this module.

Lantra All Terrain Vehicle

Sit - Astride

For those that require a nationally recognised Health and Safety certificate, we offer courses certificated by LANTRA who offer 1 level of training with the option to add additional unit / additional training dates onto this course. Sit-Astride All Terrain Vehicles (ATV), also known as quad bikes and all terrain cycles, are incredibly versatile machines. Their flexibility means they can work with a range of attachments, including trailers, sprayers and spreaders. That makes them popular across many agricultural, forestry and leisure industry businesses. But that popularity comes with the potential for danger. Without proper training, serious accidents can – and do – occur. This course is aimed at learners with little experience of ATV riding. Assessed certificated options are available, but may require additional time. Please email us your requirements and we can let you know the amount of days required for your personal needs. These include: • Tracked Accessory • Wheeled • Rough Terrain • Towing Trailed Equipment • Loading ATVs for Transport • Carrying Loads.
